A naturally occurring curcuminoid from turmeric rhizome that provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits for skin.
Demethoxycurcumin is a major curcuminoid analogue found in turmeric (Curcuma longa) rhizome extract. Like curcumin, it demonstrates antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. In the EU, turmeric extract is permitted as a cosmetic ingredient with no specific restriction; however, curcuminoids may require supplier-specific purity assessment. Cross-sensitivity with other cinnamic acid derivatives is a theoretical concern.

- Anti-inflammatory skin calming
- Antimicrobial properties
- May help reduce hyperpigmentation
