Desomorphine (also known as 'krokodil') is a synthetic morphine derivative with approximately 10x the potency of morphine. It causes severe respiratory depression, addiction, and extensive tissue damage including gangrene and necrosis at injection sites. It has no cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or any legitimate commercial application. As a Schedule I controlled substance and a substance of grave concern for human health, it is prohibited in all cosmetic products under EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex II. Any incidental presence is unacceptable in any cosmetic formulation.
