About
Ethyl Laurate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Ethyl laurate is a fatty acid ester derived from natural lauric acid (coconut and palm kernel oils) functioning as an emollient, fragrance, and plasticizer in cosmetic formulations. It has very low acute toxicity, is not a skin sensitizer, and is not regulated under EU Cosmetics Regulation Annexes II–VI. Its saturated straight-chain structure confers stability under typical cosmetic conditions; it is widely used in skin care, hair care, and decorative cosmetics for its mild, non-irritating emollient properties.
