Isosteareth-22 is the polyethylene glycol 22-mole ether of isostearyl alcohol (branched C18 chain from isostearic acid), CAS 52292-17-8. The branched isostearyl structure is well-known in cosmetics for providing better skin compatibility than linear fatty chains, as it resists crystallization and integrates more readily with skin lipids.
