About

Juniperus communis (Juniper) seed water — a botanical water with a fresh, woody scent, used in skincare for its purifying properties.

Juniperus communis seed water is the steam-distillate hydrosol from juniper berries/seeds. Juniper essential oil is listed in EU Annex III of Regulation 1223/2009 with specific restrictions: maximum concentration of 1% in ready-for-use formulations, and it must not be used for mucosal products. The highly diluted seed water form is generally safer but may still contain trace volatile compounds subject to the restriction.

  • Contains antimicrobial essential oil compounds
  • Astringent properties
  • Traditional use in aromatherapy

Known concerns
