About
Magnesium Acetylmethionate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Its specific function may vary between products. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Magnesium Acetylmethionate is the magnesium salt of N-acetyl-L-methionine, an amino acid derivative where methionine is an essential sulfur-containing amino acid. The magnesium cation and the N-acetyl amino acid moiety are both biocompatible and well-studied. Methionine derivatives are known for antioxidant properties and the magnesium salt improves solubility. It is not listed in EU Annex II or Annex III under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, and the ingredient class has no significant toxicity concerns.
