About
Acerola (Malpighia glabra) fruit juice — one of the most vitamin C–dense fruits, used as a natural antioxidant and skin-brightening ingredient.
Malpighia glabra (acerola, Barbados cherry) fruit juice is pressed from one of the most vitamin C–concentrated fruits known, commonly containing 1-2% ascorbic acid by weight. It provides strong antioxidant and potential skin-brightening function in cosmetics, supported by in-vitro literature. The raw material is food-grade; EU CosIng lists it without restriction and no GHS hazards apply. Concentrated juices are acidic (pH ~3) and should be pH-adjusted in leave-on formulations, and the red pigment can stain.
