About
Buriti (moriche palm) pulp powder — an intensely orange Amazonian fruit powder loaded with carotenoids, used for antioxidant skin-conditioning effects.
Mauritia flexuosa pulp powder is derived from the fruit of the Amazonian buriti or moriche palm. It is one of the richest known natural sources of beta-carotene and tocopherols, giving it a deep orange-red colour and strong antioxidant activity. In cosmetics it functions as a skin-conditioning and natural-tinting ingredient, typically at 0.1-2%. Listed in EU CosIng; used for many years in personal care without reported systemic issues. Main practical concerns are colour transfer (staining of skin/fabric), oxidation if the carotenoid fraction is not stabilised, and typical botanical variability in active content. No CIR monograph, no IARC classification.
