Metyrapone is a pharmaceutical agent that inhibits 11β-hydroxylase and blocks cortisol synthesis, used in the diagnosis and treatment of Cushing's syndrome. The ingredient has pharmacological activity incompatible with the safety objectives of cosmetic regulation and is not listed in CosIng as a permitted cosmetic ingredient.
