About
A naturally occurring fragrance compound found in citrus and floral essential oils — gives a sweet, fruity-floral scent. Generally well-tolerated but is a terpene ester.
Neryl Acetate (CAS 141-12-8, PubChem CID 1549025) is a monoterpene ester — the acetate ester of nerol, the cis-isomer of geraniol. It occurs naturally in citrus peel oils, neroli, petitgrain, and many floral essential oils. It functions as a fragrance ingredient with a sweet, fruity-floral character. RIFM (Research Institute for Fragrance Materials) has assessed it as having low dermal sensitisation potential at typical use levels. It is not listed as an EU fragrance allergen requiring mandatory declaration. The IFRA standard permits its use with some restrictions based on product type.
