Nicotinoyl Tripeptide-48 is a synthetic tripeptide acylated with a nicotinoyl (pyridine-3-carbonyl) group derived from nicotinic acid. The combined structure is marketed for signaling plus mild brightening/antioxidant benefits at parts-per-million use levels. There is no CIR or SCCS opinion specific to this peptide and no published GHS classification. Very short peptides have negligible intact skin penetration and low irritation potential; nicotinoyl groups can in principle release small amounts of nicotinic acid that may cause flushing in highly sensitive individuals at high doses, but at cosmetic peptide levels this is unlikely to be clinically meaningful. Independent efficacy data is sparse.
