Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A gentle amphoteric surfactant derived from oat kernel oil fatty acids, combining the mildness of betaines with oat's skin-soothing properties.
An oat-derived amidopropyl betaine surfactant produced by the condensation of oat (Avena sativa) kernel oil fatty acids with aminopropyl dimethylamine, followed by carboxymethylation. The oat-derived fatty acid profile (predominantly oleic, linoleic, and palmitic acids) confers additional skin-soothing benefits beyond conventional betaines. Associated with reduced sensitization risk due to the presence of oat polar lipids. Reviewed as part of SCCS safety assessments for oat-derived cosmetic ingredients; no specific Annex II/III restriction identified.
