Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
An anionic phosphate ester surfactant derived from ethoxylated oleyl alcohol, used as a primary emulsifier in cosmetic formulations, offering good skin compatibility and effective emulsion stabilization at low concentrations.
Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), α-9-octadecenyl-ω-hydroxy-(Z)-, phosphate with an average of 20 mol EO. Functions as an anionic surfactant and emulsifier in cosmetic products. Not listed in EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 Annex II or III; appears in CosIng without restriction. The phosphate group imparts mild anionic character while the 20 mol EO chain maintains good water solubility. The ingredient provides stable emulsification without the DEA-salt concerns of analogue compounds.
Skin benefits
- Primary emulsifier with good skin compatibility
