About
A very high-molecular-weight PEG glyceryl triester of stearic acid used as a nonionic emulsifier and viscosity modifier. Minimal skin penetration due to high molecular weight; considered very safe.
PEG-140 Glyceryl Tristearate is a very highly ethoxylated (140 mol EO) glyceryl triester of stearic acid functioning as a nonionic emulsifier, viscosity-controlling agent, and skin-conditioning ingredient in cosmetic formulations. Its very high molecular weight and degree of ethoxylation result in negligible skin penetration and minimal systemic absorption. No EU restrictions apply under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009; it is considered among the safest of PEG derivatives in leave-on cosmetic products.
Skin benefits
- Thickens and stabilizes emulsion products
