A polyethylene glycol laurate ester used as an emulsifier, cleansing surfactant, and skin conditioning agent in cosmetic formulations such as facial cleansers and body washes.
PEG-9 LAURATE is the esterification product of polyethylene glycol (9 EO units) with lauric acid (C12 fatty acid), yielding a medium-chain PEG fatty acid ester. The 9-unit EO chain provides balanced hydrophilic-lipophilic properties suitable for cosmetic emulsification. The CIR has assessed PEG fatty acid esters as safe for cosmetic use.
