About
Avocado seed extract rich in antioxidants and skin-nourishing compounds
Derived from the seed of Persea gratissima (avocado), this ingredient contains high levels of bioactive compounds including chlorogenic acids, catechins, and proanthocyanidins, as well as a small percentage of persin (a fungicidal defence compound). Persin can be a mild irritant and sensitiser at very high concentrations, but cosmetic formulations use it at low levels where it is well tolerated. It is not listed on any EU Annex restriction list; no specific concentration limits apply under Regulation 1223/2009.
