About
Pomegranate seed — a punicic-acid-rich oil with notable antioxidant polyphenols. Nourishing and strongly evidence-supported for skin.
Punica granatum seed/seed oil is one of the few natural sources of punicic acid (a conjugated linolenic acid ~70% of the oil), alongside polyphenols (ellagitannins, punicalagins). In cosmetics it functions as an emollient, antioxidant, and skin conditioning agent; dermatologic literature supports barrier-repair and anti-inflammatory effects. CIR has reviewed Punica granatum-derived cosmetic ingredients favorably. Highly unsaturated oil requires antioxidant stabilization in formula. EU CosIng lists it without restriction.
