Pyrus cydonia (quince) seed powder is derived from the seeds of Cydonia oblonga (quince tree). The seeds contain mucilaginous polysaccharides that swell in water, providing excellent emollient and film-forming properties. Quince seed has a long history of use in traditional cosmetics and skin preparations. No EU Annex restrictions apply to quince seed powder.
