About
Racemorphan is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Its specific function may vary between products. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Racemorphan is a morphinan alkaloid with potent opioid analgesic activity, acting primarily as a μ-opioid receptor agonist. It is a racemic mixture of levorphanol and dextrorphan. Racemorphan and its derivatives are controlled substances under the UN Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs and national narcotics legislation. Under EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, substances with pharmacological opioid activity are categorically excluded from cosmetic use, and racemorphan would not appear in EU cosmetics ingredient databases.
