About
Ground sage leaves used as a natural exfoliant — carries sage's antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Contains thujone but in lower amounts than the essential oil.
Salvia Officinalis Leaf Powder is the dried, ground leaves of common sage (Salvia officinalis, Lamiaceae). It functions as an exfoliant. The CIR Expert Panel concluded sage-derived ingredients safe when formulated to be non-sensitizing. The powder form contains much lower volatile compound levels (including thujone) compared to the essential oil, as drying and grinding reduce volatile content. Rich in rosmarinic acid, carnosic acid, and other polyphenols with documented antioxidant and antimicrobial properties.
