About

Vesicles isolated from potato juice — a novel plant-exosome cosmetic ingredient. Food-grade parent; the tech is young.

Solanum Tuberosum Juice Vesicles are membrane-bound vesicles (analogous to mammalian exosomes) isolated from potato (Solanum tuberosum) tubers via cold pressing and filtration/centrifugation. Plant-derived exosome-like vesicles are an emerging cosmetic category positioned for intercellular signaling and active-delivery claims. The parent food is exhaustively characterized; however, green potato juice can contain the glycoalkaloids solanine and chaconine, which are mildly toxic — cosmetic-grade supply should test for and control these. No CIR or SCCS review yet for plant exosome vesicles. Typical use is at trace concentrations.
