About
A steam distillate of thyme leaves and stems, used in cosmetics for its refreshing, aromatic and antioxidant properties.
Thyme water is the steam distillate of Thymus vulgaris leaves and stems. While the water itself is low-risk, it retains trace essential oil constituents (thymol, carvacrol, linalool) that are known fragrance allergens under EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex III. Generally recognized as safe in cosmetic use at low concentrations, but may cause sensitization reactions in individuals allergic to Lamiaceae family plants or fragrance compounds.
