About

A nano-sized mineral UV filter — works on the skin surface to block sun, with very little penetration into living skin. The catch is inhalation: it is restricted in sprays and loose powders, not in creams.

Skin benefits

  • Broad-spectrum mineral UV filter
  • Stays on skin surface, minimal penetration
  • Photo-stable, doesn't degrade in sun
  • SCCS-approved for use in sunscreens

Known concerns

  • Inhalation hazard in powders and sprays (IARC 2B for inhaled TiO2)
  • Banned in EU spray applications
  • Not for use where lungs can be exposed
