About

A naturally occurring amino acid derivative that acts as a humectant and skin conditioning agent, promoting cellular energy and protecting against oxidative stress.

The acetyl ester of L-carnitine (INCI: Acetyl Carnitine), a conditionally essential quaternary ammonium zwitterion involved in mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation. Widely used in both topical cosmetics and nutritional supplements. The acetyl group enhances skin penetration compared to carnitine itself. Not subject to EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex restrictions.
