About
Ceteth-30 is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
CETETH-30 is cetyl alcohol etherified with approximately 30 moles of ethylene oxide, producing a larger polymer than CETETH-23 with correspondingly reduced skin penetration potential. The higher ethoxylation degree provides an improved safety margin. This ingredient is not listed in EU Annexes II or III under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, and the CIR panel has assessed the ceteth series as safe. Used particularly in heavier, more emollient cream formulations.
Skin benefits
- emulsifying
- emollient
- viscosity increasing
Known concerns
- ethylene oxide contamination (potential)
- 1,4-dioxane contamination (potential)
