About
A citronellol butyrate ester — fruity-rose perfumery ingredient. Citronellol (parent alcohol released on hydrolysis) is an EU fragrance allergen.
Citronellyl butyrate (CAS 141-16-2) is the butyric acid ester of citronellol used in perfumery for rose-fruity notes and as FEMA GRAS flavor (FEMA 2313). The parent alcohol citronellol is on the EU list of 26+ fragrance allergens requiring declaration above threshold; butyrate ester itself is not directly listed but hydrolysis in use may contribute. RIFM/IFRA evaluated. Not on EU Annex II.
