About
The diacetate form of heptanal — a stable, mild way to deliver green-citrus aldehyde facets in perfumery.
Heptylidene diacetate (CAS 56438-09-6) is the 1,1-diacetate (gem-diester) of heptanal used in perfumery for stable green-citrus fragrance delivery. Slowly hydrolyzes to heptanal and acetic acid in use. RIFM/IFRA evaluated. Not on EU Annex II. Protected-aldehyde approach reduces direct aldehyde irritation and improves stability.
