Zedoary root water, a cousin of turmeric, with soothing skin-calming benefits.

Curcuma zedoaria contains curcuminoids and essential oils (curdione, germacrone) with documented anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. It is not restricted under EU cosmetic regulations. The steam-distillate (root water) form reduces the concentration of heavier curcuminoids that are most associated with skin irritation, making it better tolerated than the crude extract.
