About

Dibutyltin maleate — another organotin PVC stabiliser. Reproductive toxin, banned in EU cosmetics. Do not use.

Dibutyltin maleate is an organotin compound used industrially as a PVC heat stabiliser and polymerisation catalyst. Under EU CLP it carries harmonised classifications including reproductive toxicant Category 1B (H360FD) and STOT repeated exposure, plus acute and chronic aquatic toxicity. Organotins are documented immunotoxicants and endocrine disruptors, with multiple EU and international bans on non-essential uses. EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex II prohibits organotin compounds in cosmetics. There is no legitimate cosmetic application. Evidence is high.
