About

A coconut-derived mild surfactant used in gentle cleansing formulations with good environmental profile.

Disodium sulfomethyl cocosuccinate is a coconut oil-derived surfactant (succinate type) with a sulfomethyl head group. It functions as a mild cleansing agent in facial, baby, and sensitive-skin product formulations. The coconut alkyl chain origin and sulfomethyl substitution provide good dermatological compatibility. The ingredient is not listed in EU Annex II or III. PEG-free and readily biodegradable alternatives in this class are considered environmentally preferable. Mild surfactant suitable for regular use.
