About
A ferment of chaga mushroom (Fuscoporia obliqua) sclerotium with white birch sap. Postbiotic conditioning ingredient with polyphenol/beta-glucan signature.
This ingredient is the filtrate of a fermentation pairing the sclerotium of Fuscoporia obliqua (commonly known as chaga or Inonotus obliquus) with juice (sap) from Betula platyphylla japonica (Japanese white birch). The mushroom contributes beta-glucans and polyphenols (melanins, betulinic acid analogues), the birch sap contributes sugars and trace polyphenols, and fermentation may enhance bioavailability of small molecules. There is no SCCS or CIR opinion; toxicology rests on supplier dossiers. Both source organisms have generally benign topical histories.
