The dimethyl acetal of heptanal — a milder, more stable way to deliver green aldehyde character in perfumery.
Heptanal dimethylacetal (CAS 10032-05-0) is the acetal form of heptanal used in perfumery to deliver green-citrus aldehyde character with improved stability and lower irritation vs. the free aldehyde. On skin/in formulation it slowly hydrolyzes to heptanal and methanol at trace levels. RIFM/IFRA evaluated. Not on EU Annex II.
