About

Methestrol is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Its specific function may vary between products. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.

Methestrol (also known as methestrole or 4,4'-(1,2-diethyl-2-methylethylenedioxy)dianiline) is a synthetic non-steroidal estrogen. The EU Cosmetics Regulation prohibits substances with endocrine-disrupting activity in cosmetic products. As an estrogenic compound, methestrol can interfere with hormonal function, and its use in cosmetics is banned. There is no legitimate cosmetic application for this pharmaceutical-class estrogenic substance.
