This ingredient is a sulfated polyethoxylated C12-15 alcohol neutralised with MIPA (mono-isopropanolamine). It functions as an anionic surfactant providing cleansing and foaming in shower gels, shampoos and similar rinse-off products. Regulation III/61 in the EU CosIng database applies, requiring that in the final formulation the level of free MIPA does not exceed relevant limits. It has a long-standing safety record in cosmetics when used at appropriate concentrations in rinse-off formulations.
