About
Myreth-10 is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Myreth-10 is the polyethylene glycol 10-mole ether of myristyl alcohol (tetradecanol), CAS 27306-79-2. Listed in CosIng with emulsifying and surfactant functions, no EU restrictions in Annex III. The C14 chain with EO10 provides a balanced HLB value suitable for emulsification and skin conditioning. The myreth series, like laureth and steareth, falls within the class of fatty alcohol ethoxylates reviewed by CIR as safe for cosmetic use. The ethoxylation byproduct 1,4-dioxane is controlled to trace levels under EU GMP. Myreth-10 is used as both a primary emulsifier and a skin-conditioning agent in various leave-on and rinse-off products.
