About
P-Mentha-1,4(8)- diene is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Its specific function may vary between products. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
p-Mentha-1,4(8)-diene (also called terpinolene) is a monocyclic monoterpene hydrocarbon present in oils such as tea tree, citrus, and cardamom. Under EU cosmetic regulations, certain terpene hydrocarbons are monitored for fragrance allergen declarations. The SCCS has assessed terpene hydrocarbons for contact allergen potential; while not among the most restricted, some members of this class require declaration when present above 0.01% in leave-on products under EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex III triggering rules.
