Palm kernel amidopropyl betaine is an amphoteric surfactant derived from palm kernel oil and amidopropyl betaine. It is widely used as a secondary surfactant in cleansers, shampoos, and body washes to boost foam quality and reduce irritation from primary surfactants. It is not restricted under EU Cosmetics Regulation and is considered one of the safest and most versatile surfactants in cosmetic science. It is readily biodegradable.
