About

A 4-amino-acid peptide capped with a palmitoyl fatty-acid tail to improve skin compatibility. Used at trace levels for skin conditioning; data is limited.

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-50 is a synthetic tetrapeptide acylated at the N-terminus with palmitic acid (C16). The lipid tail improves stability, surface activity, and partitioning into the lipid-rich upper stratum corneum, which is why this strategy is widely used for cosmetic peptides. It is supplied at parts-per-million levels for skin-conditioning and signaling-type benefits. There is no CIR or SCCS opinion specific to this peptide and no published GHS classification. As with related lipopeptides, irritation potential at use levels is low, but independent efficacy data is sparse. Practical risks are formulation-dependent.
