A low-ethoxylated glyceryl triester of stearic acid used as an emulsifier and conditioning agent in cosmetic products. Provides emollient benefits with a long history of safe use.
PEG-3 Glyceryl Tristearate is a low-degree ethoxylated (3 mol EO) glyceryl triester of stearic acid functioning as a nonionic emulsifier and skin-conditioning agent in cosmetic formulations. The glycerol backbone imparts emollient properties while the low EO content gives some lipophilic character. Not restricted under EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009; the ingredient is monitored for residual 1,4-dioxane as standard practice for low-EO ethoxylated ingredients.
