About
A highly ethoxylated glyceryl trioleate with an excellent safety profile, used as a nonionic emulsifier in cosmetics and pharmaceutical topical formulations.
PEG-30 GLYCERYL TRIOLEATE is the polyethylene glycol (30 mol EO average) triester of glycerol and oleic acid, functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier. It is not listed in EU Annex II or Annex III restriction lists. The high degree of ethoxylation (30 mol EO) significantly reduces irritation potential and improves water solubility, making it one of the milder options in the PEG-glyceryl trioleate series. It is used in both cosmetic and pharmaceutical topical formulations. Trace 1,4-dioxane from ethoxylation is regulated but may be present in trace amounts.
Skin benefits
- Mild, non-irritating emulsifier suitable for sensitive skin
- Provides emollient and skin-conditioning benefits
Known concerns
- Potential trace 1,4-dioxane residue from ethoxylation process
