PEG-75 Distearate is a high-molecular-weight polyethylene glycol diester of stearic acid functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier. It is not subject to specific EU restrictions under Annexes II–VI of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Trace levels of 1,4-dioxane may form during ethoxylation, and the ingredient is monitored for this impurity by cosmetics safety assessors.
