About

A polyethylene glycol ester used as a solubilizing and cleansing agent in cosmetic formulations. Generally well-tolerated on intact skin.

It is not subject to specific EU restrictions under Annexes II–VI of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Trace levels of 1,4-dioxane may form during ethoxylation, and the ingredient is monitored for this impurity by cosmetics safety assessors.
