An ethoxylated derivative of castor oil fatty acid (ricinoleic acid) with 8 ethylene oxide units, used as a solubilizing and conditioning agent in cosmetic emulsions.
PEG-8 Ricinoleate is the polyoxyethylene ester of ricinoleic acid derived from castor oil. The ethoxylation process may generate trace 1,4-dioxane, a potential impurity regulated under EU Cosmetics Regulation. No specific concentration limit exists, but SDS require residual solvent reporting above 10 ppm.
