About
A paraben-type preservative once common in cosmetics, now restricted in the EU due to endocrine concerns associated with the paraben family.
Phenoxyethylparaben is an ester of phenoxyethanol and paraben moieties. While less studied than methyl- or propylparaben, it falls under EU cosmetic preservative restrictions (Annex VI). The EU's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) has expressed concerns about endocrine activity for the paraben class, leading to tightened usage limits across the block.
