About
A cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Its specific function may vary between products. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
This is a coal tar base fraction from quinoline derivative processing containing >0.1% w/w benzene. Benzene is classified as Category 1A carcinogen (H350) and Category 1A germ cell mutagen (H340) under EU CLP Regulation 1272/2008. Coal tar bases are complex mixtures containing nitrogen heterocycles, many of which are carcinogenic. The EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 Annex II prohibits benzene-containing and coal tar-derived streams from cosmetic products.
