TROLOXOYL NONAPEPTIDE-38
Safety score · 0–100
Fine
Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A 9-amino-acid peptide capped with a Trolox (water-soluble vitamin E analog) group. Adds antioxidant character to a peptide; data is limited.
Troloxoyl Nonapeptide-38 is a synthetic nonapeptide modified at the N-terminus with a Trolox moiety. Trolox (6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman-2-carboxylic acid) is a water-soluble analog of alpha-tocopherol used in research as a reference radical scavenger; conjugating it to a peptide is intended to combine the antioxidant chromanol with peptide-style skin signaling at parts-per-million use levels. There is no CIR or SCCS opinion specific to this peptide and no published GHS classification. Short-to-medium peptides have negligible intact skin penetration and very low irritation potential at use levels. Independent efficacy and long-term safety data are thin; real-world risk is dominated by the surrounding formulation.
