Atropine is a potent anticholinergic alkaloid derived from Atropa belladonna with profound effects on the parasympathetic nervous system. It is listed on EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex II (prohibited substances) due to its extreme toxicity (H300, H330) and pharmacological potency. Even minimal systemic absorption from topical application could cause serious adverse effects.
