About
Ethyl Behenate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Ethyl Behenate is the ethyl ester of behenic acid (C22), listed on EU CosIng with skin-conditioning and opacifying functions. Behenic acid occurs naturally in many plant oils (e.g., rapeseed, peanut). Ethyl Behenate is not on EU Annex II (banned substances) or Annex III (restricted substances). As a saturated long-chain ester, it is chemically stable, oxidatively resistant, and exhibits very low skin penetration. It is considered one of the safer cosmetic emollients.
