About
Juice from soy plant aerial parts — delivers isoflavones and saponins. Watch for soy allergy in sensitive users.
Glycine max (soybean) flower/leaf/stem juice is a skin-conditioning botanical supplying isoflavones (genistein, daidzein), saponins, amino acids, and small amounts of tocopherols. Soy isoflavones have documented mild estrogenic activity at oral doses; topical exposure is orders of magnitude lower, and cosmetic use is broadly regarded as safe. The CIR has reviewed various soy-derived cosmetic ingredients and generally supports their safety. The important caveat is that soy is one of the classic major food allergens and can occasionally trigger contact reactions in soy-allergic consumers. Preservation is required. Evidence for the specific aerial-parts juice (vs the seed extract) in cosmetics is modest.
