About
Soybean seed powder — protein and isoflavone-rich plant ingredient for cleansing and conditioning. Soy allergen.
Glycine max (soybean) seed powder is a whole-seed ingredient rich in protein, lipids and isoflavones such as genistein and daidzein. It acts as a mild exfoliant, humectant and skin conditioner. Soy ranks among the top eight food allergens globally and can occasionally elicit cutaneous reactions via its Gly m proteins, so products should be labelled appropriately. The CIR has reviewed soy-derived cosmetic ingredients and found them safe as used. Isoflavones are phytoestrogens with very low dermal bioavailability at cosmetic levels.
