About
An inorganic lithium salt. Lithium is a neuroactive drug substance with reproductive toxicity concerns — a poor fit for leave-on cosmetics.
Lithium chloride (CAS 7447-41-8) is a simple inorganic salt; lithium ion itself is the active moiety in psychiatric medications where narrow therapeutic index and close blood-level monitoring are standard of care. The EU has classified lithium salts (including LiCl) under CLP as reproductive toxicants (Repr. 1A/1B, added via the 18th ATP/CLP update). While trace lithium can appear in mineral waters, deliberate addition to leave-on cosmetic products is not supportable given systemic-activity and reproductive-toxicity concerns. Rinse-off industrial contexts differ, but consumer cosmetic use is inappropriate.
